SMALL
GROUPS
Edmond is a growing community with wonderful people, and people
are a very important part of Henderson Hills. We are committed to
helping people improve their relationship with God and each other.
One of the ways that we try to accomplish this is through Small
Group Bible studies. Through our Small Group ministry we provide
many classes that teach the Bible and encourage people to build
lasting relationships with others.
Our
Main Ministry Focus
"Let us not give up meeting together, as some
are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and
all the more as you see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25
Many
people call our Small Groups (FLOCK). Each one of our groups focus
on five aspects of ministry:
Fellowship
Leadership
Outreach
Care
Knowledge
A Small Group is a group of people who come together to take part
in each of the five aspects listed above. These groups are where
people find a sense of community since they are surrounded with
people living in similar life circumstances. Small Groups enable
you and your family to build relationships with other church members
as you study God's Word together.
Is it important for me to be part of a Small Group? Besides,
I go to the worship service most every week...isn't that enough?
We cannot
overemphasize the importance of being in a Small Group. In fact,
our Teaching Pastor regularly says that if you only have one extra
hour a week to give, it should be spent in Small Group. You could
come to our worship service consistently and God would encourage
you to do so, but it is very difficult to get to know anyone in
that setting.
When
do Small Groups meet?
Our
Sunday morning worship services are held at 9:00, and 10:45 a.m.
Designed around each of these service times, Small Groups are available
for you as well as 7:45 a.m. Additionally, we have a growing number
of Small Groups meeting throughout the week in homes, particularly
on Sunday nights (which is really exciting since this is clearly
an Acts 2 model).

How do I choose a Small Group?
Several
factors may help you in finding a Small Group. The links on this
page outline the sizes, ages, and life stages of all of our groups.
We encourage you to look at finding a Small Group like going to
the mall. Check out several places before you make a purchase! Don't
feel obligated to a group just because you visit it once. Don't
worry about hurting small group leader’s feelings. They want
you to find the right Small Group just for you. This may take a
while with the number of groups we offer. So take your time. But
be sure and get plugged-in to one! The most important thing is following
the Holy Spirit's leading to the group for you.
What are the groups like?
Just as cars and people are different, so are each of our small
groups. That's why it's so important for you to find the one that
God wants you to join.
