Freedom
Ministry is about resolving personal and spiritual conflict in your
life plus providing you with practical ways to help others find freedom
in Christ.
The
vision of the Ministries of Jesus is to glorify God through engaging
in four aspects of our Lord's ministry, which includes preaching the
gospel to the poor, and caring for the spiritual, physical and emotional
needs of all desiring help. These ministries are performed in the power
of the Spirit, with an emphasis on integrating spiritual, physical and
emotional care in a thoroughly biblical manner.
Freedom
Ministry Purpose Statement - The purpose of the Freedom Ministry
is to encourage believers to recognize their identity in Christ and
utilize their authority to experience freedom.
The
Freedom branch of the Ministries of Jesus is helping clients/freedom
seekers to resolve personal and spiritual conflict in his/her life and
provides practical ways to help others find freedom in Christ. The Freedom
branch will provide ministry in a variety of formats. Interventions,
Pre-step meetings, Steps to Freedom, Walking in Freedom accountability
groups, and discipleship Bible Studies will be utilized to help clients/seekers
find their freedom in Christ. Interventions will be used to help clients/seekers
gain freedom from a specific spiritual issue. Interventions will be
used in the Ministries of Jesus clinic. Pre-step meetings will be used
to help clients/seekers prepare for walking through the Steps to Freedom.
The Steps to Freedom is only a tool that God uses to help the client/seeker
with confessing, repenting and renouncing sin. The Steps to Freedom
in Christ do not set you free. Who sets you free is Christ and what
sets you free is your response to Him in repentance and faith. Walking
in Freedom, biblically based accountability groups, will be available
to help clients/seekers deal with issues after completing the Steps
and continue to be free.
How
do I become free? Nothing will happen until you choose to honestly
face your problem and initiate the process for resolving it. God holds
each of us responsible for confessing, repenting and renouncing our
own sin. No one can do that for you. Repentance means to have a change
of mind. It is far more than just mental knowledge. It means to turn
from our self-centered and self-indulging ways and trust in God. Repentance
involves not only what we turn from but also what we turn to. We must
commit all we have and all we are to God. Renounce means to give up
by formal announcement, to reject all previous use of our lives and
possessions in the service of sin and then dedicate ourselves to the
Lord. We are saying that the god of this world no longer has any right
over us because we now belong to God. You may also have some questions
about walking through the Steps to Freedom.
Your experience of going through the Steps to Freedom in Christ and
being set free from bondages may be different from anyone else's. Why?
Because each individual is unique, and each has his or her own unique
set of conflicts to resolve. God graciosuly doesn't hurry us through
everything at once, especially if the process is difficult. Getting
free and staying free in Christ are two different issues. Freedom is
nurtured and maintained by continuing to stand in the truth of who we
are in Christ.
You
need to remember that the only power Satan has is the power of the lie.
As soon as you expose the lie, Satan's power is broken. The battle is
for your mind. If Satan can get you to believe a lie, he can control
your life. But you don't have to let him control you.
